Larry Pickett Public Relations – Project Examples:

1. Commercial aviation accident

Coordinated crisis and media management for commercial airline accident that prompted work with over 100 reporters, families, elected officials, and accident investigators. Incident involved fatalities and injuries.

2. Gas pipeline accident

Provided crisis and media support for Big & Deep Ag Development involving a gas pipeline accident that included a fatality and injuries. Prepared company statements, fact sheets, talking points, question and answer handouts and work as media spokesperson.

3. Ambulance company rate increase

To assist a Hall ambulance filing for a rate increase provided media relations services including acting as media spokesperson. Prepared information materials for media, general public, and to the county board of supervisors that approved the rate increase without public opposition at final hearing.

4. Gas leak response

Coordinated media relations, government affairs, and presented testimony to Arvin city council involving gas line leak situation requiring family evacuations, site testing, and health risk assessment. Served as media spokesperson.

5. Energy transportation

Provided crisis and media management services for Plains All American Pipeline rail transportation of crude oil into Kern County for distribution to refinery operations. Also included oil spill response on California coast.

6. Interchange feasibility studies

Handled public involvement meetings with Quincy Engineering, Kern Council of Governments and California Department of Transportation related to highway feasibility studies. Focus provided news and advertising, bilingual information to local media and work with media at public meetings.
